This year we are doing it right ... five full days of Southeast Arizona birding, dawn to dusk daily, but nice and s-l-o-w-w-w. April 8 to 12: Steller's Jays on Mt. Lemmon, Ruddy Ducks at Sweetwater, Shrikes at Las Cienegas, You-Never-Knows in Patagonia, but also the backyard Costas, the neighborhood Cooper's, Phainopeplas out the living room window, Goldfinches at the patio table with plenty of time along the way for coffee, breakfast burritos, some botany and lizard study, maybe some yoga? Civilized. Our goal is 100 species and QUALITY TIME with each of them.

The SLO BIRD MOVEMENT is key to healthy aging and the antidote to the epoch of the nanosecond.  (Have you heard of "hurry sickness?"  Yep, it's officially a thing....). We're having none of that this year. Welcome to OUR brand of ornitherapy.

A few of our priority goal birds:

     • Scott's Oriole
     • Sora Rail
     • Rosy-faced Lovebird
     • that darned Jacana under the bridge
     • Violet-crowned Hummingbird

Thank you for supporting Robin and Keith's efforts to support Tucson Audubon and Southeast Arizona's birds by donating to our Birdathon 2021!!

ABOUT Birdathon 2021

..PLEDGE (PAY LATER)..

..DONATE (PAY NOW)..

Birds have a unique, special, and different meaning to each of us. So, too, is each of our connection with Tucson Audubon Society personal and distinct. During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation.

Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of Southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 30 years!

Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.

Birdathon donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Tucson Audubon Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

So you let them go, or when you open the cage to feed them they somehow fly out past you. And the part of you that knows it was wrong to imprison them in the first place rejoices, but still, the place where you live is that much more drab and empty for their departure.”
