Meet Chloe and Nolan Walker, ages 19 and 16 respectively, who just recently moved to Vail, Arizona from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. These crazy siblings are as different as any kin could be, yet they find their common ground in birds. Chloe was the 2014 ABA Young Birder of the Year and is a leader for Seabirding pelagics. She has a golden ear. Nolan is a walking field guide, range maps and all. He attended the National Geographic Bee in 2018. With their talents combined, together they make a nigh-unbeatable team.
Chloe and Nolan's goal is to raise as a minimum of $500 for the Tucson Audubon Society, which does an incredible job preserving and protecting the wildlife of southeast Arizona. They are also trying to see as many bird species as they can within a 24-hour period. This will be their first Arizona Big Day, and weather permitting, they will be birding on Tuesday, April 30.
