Well, that time has rolled around again and scientists at the Wrengegades Birding Institute are already hard at work coming up with new plans to find even more birds for this years Birdathon. This is a great opportunity to raise money for a worthy organization but also to just have a lot of fun with a crazy group at the same time. We’ve made even more changes to our double-top secret strategy this year and are aiming to beat all of our previous goals, shooting for somewhere above ~190 species for the 24 hour period. Go big or don’t come back, high winds and Russian hackers be damned this year!
I do this to raise money for the Tucson Audubon Society, because I believe in the work it does for environmental conservation and education/outreach, and I am hoping that you will help me out in this goal. Now, more than ever, we’re going to have to do more ourselves and not depend on others to do it for us. Please contribute with either a fixed amount, or if you want to really spur our team on, pledge a specific amount per species that we see in the 24 hour period. Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 30 years!
