Join Nick Beauregard of Tucson Audubon and the Patagonia Birder Patrol team for a Big Day on Friday, April 22nd, 8am - 4pm

Come explore the best birding that Patagonia has to offer through a combination of casual hiking, backyard, and roadside birding! We'll meet at the Paton Center at 8am where we should be treated to at least a half-dozen hummingbird species before exploring the riparian wonderland of the The Nature Conservancy's Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve. We'll briefly check out the town park as we take a quick break for lunch and fuel our migration up-slope into the Patagonia Mountains. Here we'll explore some of the most biologically diverse canyons this side of the border. These remote and under-birded areas always yield amazing finds! Rewards for the day may include the Elegant Trogon, Azure Bluebird, Northern Beardless Tyrannulet, Violet-crowned Hummingbird, and any number of other rarities! Be prepared for moderate hiking, dirt-road driving, and spectacular birds and scenery!

Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 25 years. 

Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.
