If you are reluctant to join the Turkey Team let me remind you that the wild turkey was Ben Franklin's choice for our National Bird as being morally superior to the Bald Eagle. I might also add that in contrast to our domestic birds the wild variety are quite smart. And handsome as well. These fellows were photographed at the Santa Rita Lodge in Madera Canyon.

I will be joining the Big Sit at the Paton Center in Patagonia on April 24th where we're sure to see many species of hummingibrds as well as many others. Each of us will be hoping to raise at least $50 for this event for the benefit of Tucson Audubon. I will also be birding wherever I go during the next month hoping to add to our contributions.  Any amount will be appreciated and can be done as a specific amount or for even made more fun by the number of species I actually see.

Birds have a unique, special, and different meaning to each of us. So too is each of our connection with Tucson Audubon Society personal and distinct. During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation.

Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 25 years. 

Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.
