Welcome to my Birdathon fundraising page. All funds go to Tucson Audubon's conservation and education programs. My team, The Valiant Verdins, will do its Birdathon "big day" on April 30. Team members Brian Nicholas, Janine McCabe and I will try to see as many bird species as possible on that date. The area in which we will be birding is within a 20-mile radius of central Tucson (Reid Park). Last year we saw 142 species and this year we hope to get to 145 to 150!

The more fun way to do it is to pledge an amount per species (I call it "putting the thon in Birdathon"). If you wish to make a per species donation, figure out an amount to pledge that, when multiplied by 140 or 150, is a reasonable donation for you. Then contact me and let me know.

Everyone that donates to Tucson Audubon through my Birdathon receives emails leading up to the event chronicling our preparations and then a very detailed account of our big day. Usually some comical or poignant things happen along the way. You'll want to read every word, and there will be some photos too!

Birds have a unique, special, and different meaning to each of us. So too is each of our connection with Tucson Audubon Society personal and distinct. During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation.
Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 25 years.
Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.
