It's Birdathon time again! This year my team, the Wrenegades!, will be heading out for a Big Day (24 hours straight of nothing but birding!) on Friday, May 1. Our plan: get up EARLY! Find a 24 hour Circle K for coffee and donuts, and then begin night birding at local park lakes and then head up Mt. Lemmon for very early morning owling, ready at the top to begin listening and looking for birds during the dawn chorus. And, well, from there...we head around to various hot spots around Southeast Arizona and I can't give our entire route away since this is also a competition along with a fundraiser!

Having these outdoor spaces is ultimately good for other wildlife, too, and enhances our human lives in providing outdoor spaces for people to continue to experience the joy, beauty and healing aspects of nature.

Birds have a unique, special, and different meaning to each of us. So too is each of our connection with Tucson Audubon Society personal and distinct. During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation.
Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 25 years.
Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.
