Welcome to my Birdathon fundraising page. Birdathon is a fundraising event for the Tucson Audubon Society. All funds go to Tucson Audubon's conservation and education programs. My team, The Valiant Verdins, did our Birdathon "big day" on May 2. Our goal was to see as many bird species as possible on that date within a 20-mile radius of central Tucson (Reid Park). Last year we saw 134 species and this year we saw 142!
It's not too late to donate! You can donate right now by clicking on the green "Donate" button on the upper right of this page.
The fun way to do it is to pledge an amount per species. Since the Birdathon is now over, if you wish to make a per species donation just choose an amount and multiply it by 142, then make the donation as indicated above. The goal here is to raise funds for Tucson Audubon Society. Tucson Audubon does conservation work, environmental education and recreation--all with an emphasis on birds!
Everyone that donates to Tucson Audubon through my Birdathon receives emails leading up to the event chronicling our preparations and then a very detailed account of our big day. Usually some comical or poignant things happen along the way. You'll want to read every word, and there should be some photos!

Birds have a unique, special, and different meaning to each of us. So too is each of our connection with Tucson Audubon Society personal and distinct. During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation.
Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 25 years.
Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.
