Birdathon is ooooon! OK, three years in and I'm still a super beginner, but I'm taking the reigns and leading a Birdathon team for anyone to join this year. *Disclaimer: by "leading," I don't mean having the ability to ID all the birds we'll see, I just mean, hey join my team and we'll have some bird watching fun. It's a team effort, so together I'm sure our team (relying on the ever helpful Birds of Southeast Arizona field guide - thanks Nature Shop!) will be able to ID some good stuff. The plan: On Wednesday, April 16, the Caracaras will bird Arthur Pack Park and the Mason Center (on what would have been Mason Center namesake Orpha Mason's 121st birthday!). 

So that's my story. Will you support my Birdathon? The birds thank you for your support, and so do I!

Update: The Caracaras are going to rock this year! Thanks to my awesome teammates Larry, Sharon, Diane, Jan, and Jill for joining me to raise support for Tucson Audubon and have a great time doing it..go Caracaras!

Birds have a unique, special, and different meaning to each of us. So too is each of our connection with Tucson Audubon Society personal and distinct. During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation.

Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 25 years. 

Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible. 

This April, I'm going birding for the birds!
