Team Feeding Frenzy is a group of enthusiastic supporters and volunteers with the Tucson Bird Alliance (TBA). As an established chapter within the National Audubon network, the TBA is an outstanding organization whose mission is to inspire people to enjoy and protect birds through recreation, education, conservation, and restoration of the environment upon which we all depend. TBA sees birding as a gateway to education about birds and the local and global threats they encounter, as well as conservation action.
We count ourselves extremely fortunate to live in one of the most fascinating regions in the country, a region rich with birding opportunities. And, we share these experiences with people from all over the world.
Birdathon 2026 is our opportunity to raise funds to support the many programs of the Tucson Bird Alliance here in southern Arizona, and to extend their influence beyond our state.
Our team goal is to spot and identify 100+ bird species during a series of outings between April 1 - 30. We will bird some well known public feeder sites: Santa Rita Lodge in Madera Canyon, Paton Center for Hummingbirds, Patagonia Lake, and others, as well as our own sites. And this year, we are excited to broaden our horizons to other regions and countries, including the Pacific Northwest, Mexico, and Colombia! We will observe feeding behavior in natural habitats, hopefully including some that are feeding nesting young. After all...the birds, like us, are always looking for the next meal!
Join us on our adventure by pledging or donating any amount. If you choose to pledge, why not give us a challenge; e.g., $.50 for each hummingbird species or your favorite bird, $1 for each active nest we find, etc...you choose! Birds need us now more than ever.
Thanks for being part of our team!
For the birds,
Judy Ellyson, Mary Dunham, David Dunham, Anna Parker, Suzanne Mattox
