The Kingbirders (the quartet of Luke Safford, his son Brock, Alex Patia, and Donito Burgess) are ready for another year of Birdathon and we hope you'll join us as part of our team! Last year we set our personal record of 181 species, and you can see our full list here. 

This year we'll be doing the Big Birdathon Day on Friday, April 3, which is a bit earlier than normal, but it's the only day we can get all four of together! This may affect our total, but we are setting a goal of 180 species and we'll do our best to get there. The plan is to start in the Chiricahua Mountains and then head west, possibly ending in the Catalinas, or out looking for Burrowing Owls near Marana.

Our main goal is to increase the number of donors/pledges to our team by 25% this year. In 2025 we had 85 individual donors/pledges so that means we are shooting for 107 donors/pledgers involved with The KingBirders! We'll see if we can get there together.

• Jeff Miller: $40 for the first 181 species, an additional $20 bonus for exceeding last year's 181. $5 bonus for a barn owl other than the one we saw during the Race to 100 on Jan 2. This year we know Brock is your ringer! Good luck.
• Carolyn Haas: $0.50/species. We're migrating soon from Green Valley back to Wisconsin and enjoy seeing warblers returning there and here as well. For every Yellow or Wilson's warbler you see, an extra $1 and if you see a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird, an extra $10. Good luck finding lots of birds! So glad Brock is still interested in being a birder!
• Carol de Waard: $50
• Jeanne Yordy: $0.75/species and $30 per roadrunner up to 3 roadrunners ($90).  Have a great day of birding!
• Kyle Hudick: $1/species
• Julie Furgason: $0.25/species and  $5 for every Greater Roadrunner you see
• Rick Cover: $1/species
• Tiana Starke: $0.50/species and $25 for Montezuma quail!
• Kris & Monte DelMonte: $1/species, $5 for each shore bird species, and $5 for each owl species.Good luck. Hope you get 185 Species this year!!
• Carla Klittich: $1.25/species and an extra $5 for every bird with a name that starts with A, L, D, or B. Hmm, what is special about those letters? Have fun and get a Costa's this year!
• Kari & Gary Kidd: $0.42/species, $5 for each new bird on your 2026 list that was not on your 2025 list….up to 4 total, and $5 for a burrowing owl picture taken by Brock. Have fun!!
• Paul Suchanek: $1/species. Hope you have a great day!
• Molly Molloy: $1/species. Have fun!
• Dawn & Bret Bellevue: $0.50/species and an extra $5 for every Elegant Trogon you see. Good luck and have fun!
• Kathleen Little: $0.75/species
• Terri & Rob: $1/species and $0.50 for every bird that has the word "north" in it. Get your "bird eyes" going and have lots of fun!!!
• Mitchell Lapides: $0.75/species
