This year I am dedicating my birding trips to Birdathon to raise much-needed funds for the Tucson Bird Alliance. Like many nonprofit organizations, the Tucson Bird Alliance has federal grants and contracts for invasive plant removal and habitat restoration. Projects that both prevent wildfires and improve habitat for birds and other wildlife. Funds for these programs are at risk due to reductions in federal funding.

You can help by attending one of my field trips in April or, if you cannot attend in person, by donating to one of my teams:

April 11: Time Flies Wren You're Having Fun  Casual birding at Sabino canyon and then socializing at my house.

April 13: Bird Nerds  Birding at Fort Lowell park and then gear and gadget show and tell.

April 19: All Washed Up  Birding in the Tanque Verde Wash at Wentworth Road in partnership with the Watershed Management Group. They will share what they are doing for habitat restoration in the beautiful section of the wash.

April 16: Restorative Birding at the Paton Center  ½-day trip with birding, an overview of habitat restoration along the Sonoita Creek, and a behind-the-scenes peek at big improvements underway on the Paton house and the grounds by Tucson Bird Alliance staff.

You can join a team simply by signing up for one of these trips from the Field Trip page. All teams will be casual and social.
