Hello!! And welcome to Birdathon 2025. This is possibly the most important fund-raising event in a very long time. With so much change going on in our current governments administration, funding for the Tucson Bird Alliance (AKA Tucson Audubon) is at the very best tenuous. The funds raised by this years Birdathon are now even more important to maintaining the incredible work that the amazing staff, and hundreds of volunteers do every day. From habitat restoration and protection, to invasives plant education and removal, educational field trips, and a project near and dear to my heart, the repairs and upgrades to the Paton Center for Hummingbirds, there is just so much good done by this organization.

As I have done in past years, my Birdathon count will only include birds that I am able to photograph. I will also attempt to get as many birds as possible in one 24-hour period. You will get to decide if you would like to make a pledge for a certain amount per bird that I capture, or you can just donate a set amount. And please know this, no amount is too small!! Every single dollar adds up to help fund the projects that are in the works now, or being planned for the future.

Just to spice things up, I love those extra challenges…for example, $5.00 for every red bird, $10.00 for a Road Runner, $1.00 for every Hawk species. Last year I got a fun challenge, by adding in mammals and reptiles…Lets see how creative you can be, really make me earn those donated dollars!!

To further continue my past years format, I will also be giving away two framed photos, one to the person who donates the largest amount of money, and the second will go in a raffle type drawing. For each ten dollars you donate you will receive a ticket. At the completion of the Birdathon, the winners will get to pick their favorite bird from this year, and I will print, frame and deliver this to you.
