Birdathon Field Trip | Birding & Beyond: Gear and Gadgets
Location: Fort Lowell Park
Sunday, April 13 | 9:00 – 11:00 AM.
Join us for a relaxed morning of birding at Fort Lowell Park. Explore the pond, fields, and pecan grove as we look for spring courtship and nesting activity. Expect to see Vermilion Flycatchers in pairs and perhaps even a nesting hummingbird or two! After birding, we'll have a “Gear and Gadgets Show & Tell”—a chance to share and discuss our favorite birding tools. Bring your binoculars, spotting scopes, cameras, or any other birding tech you love (I'll bring my wildlife camera). We can also share phone-based tools for identification and tracking.
Trip Details:
• Difficulty: Easy (up to 1.5 miles on pavement and paths)
• Essentials: Sun protection, water
• Amenities: Restrooms, water, and shade available
• Meeting Spot: Parking lot off Craycroft Road, near the pond
• Limited to 12 participants | $25 minimum fee
