It's Birdathon Time! The 2024 Birdathon is my 19th in a row and I love it still every year.  

My Team, the Wrenegades, is hard at work planning, scouting, and thinking through how we can raise the most money for Tucson Audubon while enjoying our day out birding together. Tim, the data guru and ulitmate scout; Chris, the teacher and photographer; Jennie, our fearless leader; Matt and myself, the trusty cheerleaders who keep our team going when the hours get long! (Let's not forget the Coca-cola and Pop-Tarts!)  We plan to head out on the evening of April 26 and go a full 24 hours (maybe some sleep in the middle there?) and end on the evening of April 27th. WHEW!!

Our goal this year.... maybe 180 species!? Can we do it? We'd love to but so many things come into play with planning the perfect Birdathon (think weather, climate change, location, time of day, and maybe just pure birding luck!)

We plan to cover plenty of "hot spots" in Southeast Arizona, but we also plan for camaraderie and fun, and of course, raising money for one of the best non-profits, Tucson Audubon Society!

The Wrenegades has been going strong every year and we definitely plan to continue in 2024.
