I've participated in Audubon Birdathons for many, many years, but this is my first Birdathon with the Tucson Audubon Society. Although Audubon focuses on birds, it's about much more than that. The beautiful birds that enhance our lives are seriously imperiled and it's estimated that North America has lost 50 Billion birds in the last 50 years. The major reason for bird decline is habitat loss, including native deserts here in the southwestern U.S. Deadly pesticides, cats, and global warming are also big problems. Tucson Audubon has a campaign to plant 10,000 saguaro cactus seedlings in upcoming years and programs to restore and protect native habitats that birds, many of whom migrate to north for the summer, need to survive. I'm keen to do my part to help protect the birds that brighten my days. I hope that you will join me with a donation to the Audubon.
Pledges:
Birds have a unique, special, and different meaning to each of us. So, too, is each of our connection with Tucson Audubon Society personal and distinct. During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation.
Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of Southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 30 years!
Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.
Birdathon donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Tucson Audubon Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
