Hi! I'm Jennie Wren of the Wrenegades - aka Jennie MacFarland
Please consider sponsoring me, Jennie MacFarland, aka Jennie Wren of the Wrenegades in this year’s Birdathon fundraiser. The Wrenegades Birdathon team is a band of swashbuckling bird lovers that will cruise the high seas between the Sky Islands seeking riches using our eBird treasure map.
In previous years the Wrenegades have been a pirate crew that ruthlessly searched the Sky Islands for hummingbird jewels and warbler gems trying to find as many feathered riches as possible. This year, the Wrenegades Birdathon team will be focusing on having a fun experience and pretty much staying in the Tucson region to limit our driving time and spend more time with the birds.
Birds need us now more than ever, and Tucson Audubon needs your support to continue our mission to inspire people to enjoy and protect birds. If you feel comfortable participating this year, I would be grateful for your support. If not, please know that I completely understand and it is no problem. All friends are invited to follow along on our day of birding adventure. We will be posting messages and videos throughout the day
All supporters will receive a full narrative of our antics along with the mishaps and triumphs that come along with a Big Day. My top supporters will receive an additional token of my gratitude. Info about our day will also be posted on this page once we recover from our adventure.
Last year some of my supporters had creative challenges such as a bonus donation for specific species or behaviors observed. This made the day of birding so much fun and I enthusiastically encourage similar challenges this year.

Pledges:
- Marcia Grand: $10/species; $5 for every active nest (building, eggs, sitting, etc); $10 for every species of identified snake; $5 for every species of identified butterfly; $50 for a turtle; an extra $100 if you ID 5 or more hummingbird species; $500 for one eagle
- Brett Wilmore: $0.50/species and $5 for any of following: Purple Martin, Blue-throated Mountain Gem, Mexican Whip-poor-will, Olive Warbler. $50 Barn Owl, heard screaming! This bonus pledge extended to any Wrenegades team member (pass it around) but only awarded once :-)
- Tice Supplee: $1/species, $10 for each Lucy's Warbler nesting in a TAS nest box, and $25 for a Burrowing Owl
- Richard Barmore: $0.50/species
- Norma Miller: $1/species and $5 for each trifecta of birds counted. Example: Three species of Quail: Gambel's, Scaled & Montezuma. Three species of Orioles, three species Buntings, three species Grosbeaks.
- Wanda Wynne & Craig Marken: $1/species
- Julie Gordon: $1/species
Birds have a unique, special, and different meaning to each of us. So, too, is each of our connection with Tucson Audubon Society personal and distinct. During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation.
Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of Southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 30 years!
Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.
Birdathon donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Tucson Audubon Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
