The SLO Bird Movement is back -- bending the Birdathon rules and breaking the sound barrier backwards.  First Robin and Keith are kicking off their Birdathon with a trip to Florida (April 2 to 7) before Birdathon actually begins.  Then we'll return to our leisurely but beloved bi-state backyard birding.  Birds seen while sipping margaritas are considered "a Triple Bird Score" and count as three. Birds heard (or even imagined) while dozing off to sleep on a lawn chair will be counted without verification. Plus we are each pledging to hold "Relatively Big Days" in our respective states in April (dates tbd). We appreciate your support of our team and Tucson Audubon!

FLORIDA GOAL BIRDS: Wood Stork, Roseate Spoonbill, Palm Warbler, Great-crested Flycatcher, Tri-colored Heron, Limpkin, White Ibis, Frigatebird (+ lots of Life Birds for Robin ... Blue Jay, Red-bellied Woodpecker, etc...)

ARIZONA GOAL BIRDS: Elegant Trogon, Sulphur-bellied Flycatcher, Scott's Oriole, Varied Bunting, Green-tailed Towhee, Painted Redstart, Zone-tailed Hawk

CALIFORNIA GOAL BIRDS: Snowy Plover, Greater Yellowlegs, Black Skimmer, Long-billed Curlew, Black-throated Gray Warbler, Reddish Egret, Red-throated Loon, Ruddy Turnstone

ABOUT Birdathon 2022

Birds have a unique, special, and different meaning to each of us. So, too, is each of our connection with Tucson Audubon Society personal and distinct. During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation.

Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of Southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 30 years!

Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.

Birdathon donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Tucson Audubon Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
