Our team is made up of a group of friends who have been given special permission to bird monthly at the Sewailo Golf Course,located on the Pascua Yaqui Reservation. This is a private location closed to birders and we are not golfers, but we have been able to enjoy the "birdies" at this desert oasis that features over 14 acres of ponds and streams nestled in a desert environment. Since we began birding at this site in 2014, we have seen over 150 species there including at least one "eagle" (okay, it was an Osprey). We hope you will support our team as we do our April Bird Count at the golf course towards the end of the month. Your donation supports the many good things Tucson Audubon does to promote protection of birds and habitat, education and ensuring that birds can be enjoyed by all for generations to come. Every one of our supporters will receive a summary list of the birds we see along with a few photos and perhaps a "story" or two! Thanks for your support. Pledges:
- Marcia Grand: $10/species; $5 for every active nest (building, eggs, sitting, etc); $10 for every species of identified snake; $5 for every species of identified butterfly; $50 for a turtle; an extra $100 if you ID 5 or more hummingbird species; $500 for one eagle (a real eagle)
- Rebecca Hamilton: $2/species and $50 for every American Kestrel seen
Birds have a unique, special, and different meaning to each of us. So, too, is each of our connection with Tucson Audubon Society personal and distinct. During Birdathon, we combine the love of bird watching during spring migration with support for bird conservation.
Birdathoners are birders and social fundraisers, joining together to make a difference for the birds and habitats of Southeast Arizona. Birdathoners continue a tradition that has held strong for over 30 years!
Each Birdathoner's personal network of supporters is what helps makes Birdathon possible.
Birdathon donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Tucson Audubon Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
